In the broadcasting world, second and third screen experiences are no longer considered extras; for audiences today, they’re expected. Media networks that create masterful multi-channel and multi-branded content for viewing on TVs or computers, sharing on mobile devices, or both—open up huge opportunities to monetize more streams of programming. Those opportunities were made for TriCaster 8000.
TriCaster 8000 is the first content publishing hub for all media coming into a live program, all creativity and branding that happens on screen, all variations of the branded program output, multi-channel delivery with simultaneous streaming and social media publishing—and all the integration points in between, for broadcasters, brands, content owners and media publishers to flow smoothly with their infrastructure and create, publish and repurpose that media.
TriCaster 8000 is the model that delivers our most extensive integration with broadcast operations, with remote control of a redundant system, router support for large-scale enterprise production, 24-channel switcher, professional audio mixing, and up to 14 output destinations. And, with the world's most powerful integrated effects system now made tblRowA more powerful with insanely innovative visual effects (you’ll have to see them to believe you can actually create them yourself), you’ll have your audience hooked on every screen.
Product Essentials:
Turnkey Production
Based on the innovative concept of a single system to broadcast, project, stream and record, simultaneously, TriCaster 8000’s multiple turnkey functions do the work usually requiring racks of equipment, but integrated into a robust rackmount frame instead. Just one system replaces gear for recording, encoding, switching, submixing, playback, audio mixing, DVE, advanced graphics and titling, animation store, scan conversion, multiple channels of virtual sets, live streaming, camera automation, scopes and monitors, and social media publishing.
Enterprise Integration
TriCaster 8000 natively supports a wide variety of media formats and connectivity types, in addition to expanding input capacity exponentially via router control. It easily incorporates legacy hardware, and with API support, offers the potential for external control of almost anything in the switcher. Redundant power supply and multi-tiered fail-safe measures, rear-panel-accessible audio and video patching, monitoring and network connectors, and rackmount configurations round out the physical integration points. External timecode support, and genlock, more-extensive format compatibility for integration with nearly any workflow allow TriCaster 8000 to ease into your infrastructure and seamlessly handle your most challenging needs.
Scalability
The extraordinary versatility of the 24-channel TriCaster 8000 lets you scale up or down to accommodate every program imaginable. Expand to unprecedented coverage with massive, multi-camera production through external video routers. Add a dedicated audio operator and social media producer. Send 8 independent output feeds to 14 destinations, for broadcast, stream, display—tblRowA over the network transmission to another TriCaster. Smaller program? Shrink back down to size—and let one operator handle the show.
Router Support
TriCaster 8000’s expanded router support incorporating the GVNP protocol greatly increases facility integration, effectively removes limits on the number of video sources producers wish to bring into a program, and provides complete setup and control flexibility that can accommodate or replicate workflows anywhere. Broadcasters can configure their setup to correlate any TriCaster 8000 input to any router output, including multiple routers, and control with macros, keyboard shortcuts, or control surface.
Mix-and-Match I/O
TriCaster 8000 provides connectivity to prepare for any location scenario. Connect multiple cameras (up to 8) with the capability to mix and match connection types, including SDI, component, composite and Y/C; and tblRowA camera types with varying SD and HD resolutions and formats. Equally flexible outputs can send a variety of feeds to multiple destinations and displays—tblRowA send a signal to another TriCaster over the network with a network output.
8-channel, Multi-Format ISO Source Recording
IsoCorder™ multi-track video recording technology captures incoming sources into the system, saving all your live footage and literally racks of video capture equipment. This innovative technology enhances your studio with a powerful, built-in, real-time ISO recording system of all 8 camera inputs, simultaneously—right inside the user interface. Record your entire show, select camera footage, and more, at full resolution to meet your most challenging post-production demands.
24-channel Multi-Camera Production
With the 24 channel, multi-camera TriCaster 8000, you have nearly every possible live and stored source at your fingertips. Up to 8 cameras in any HD and SD configuration. Color correction, keying, cropping, scaling, and frame sync on every input. 2 digital media players for video clips (long or short form). 3 slots for graphics, titles and sounds. And 2 network channels for sharing computer screens and displays from wireless iOS devices. Now add 8 re-entrant M/E banks to stage live virtual sets, create real-time compositions and presets, and submixes that can act as upstream switchers (or secondary programs out), when you need to give your big show tblRowA bigger impact.
Expanded Media Sources: Buffers and Network Inputs
Our 24-channel switching system is just the start. TriCaster 8000 gives producers instant access to tblRowA more content in real time, without adding equipment or crew. Buffers for looping motion effects and stills provide 15 bonus “always on” sources. And enhanced network inputs support cloud video, streaming servers, remote cameras, remotely hosted clips, USB cameras and more, dramatically expanding content and programming possibilities without taking up a hardware input.
Audio Mixing
The TriCaster integrated multi-channel audio mixer is loaded with enhancements that raise the caliber of your shows’ sound to the same professional, network quality as the visuals. Unprecedented routing, customization, control and flexibility—and further opportunities for sound configuration and delivery like simulcast audio, multi-language presentation, and mix-minus applications (such as Skype calls and phoners)—without the investment in scores of external hardware. If live control by an audio operator is what you want, you get full support for mixing from our iPad remote mixer app, the Avid® Artist Mix control surface, and other third-party audio control interfaces.
Visual & Motion Effects
Being recognizable, instantly—across all media requires a style that makes an impression on your audience. TriCaster 8000 hosts the most powerful integrated effects engine in live production. Customize full-color, animated transitions with alpha channel and embedded audio, and punctuate with imaginative, branded elements designed into real-time cloth dynamics, 3D video warping and transformations with TransWarp effects, and motion tracking. Create your own custom effects using the included Animation Store Creator application, and live, composited, multi-layer video with 8 re-entrant M/E rows.
Automation
With TriCaster 8000, elaborate live production sequences are no longer nail-biters. You know how they'll turn out, because you automate them yourself. Seamlessly string together complex effects and creative elements with macros, triggered by keyboard shortcuts and control surface actions. Add remotely controlled robotic cameras as input sources, without the need to add camera operators. Unlimited external control functions with MIDI sequencing enables show control of nearly any command, or offloading tasks to additional crew. Or, for a presentation that is tblRowA more visually remarkable, configure talent-driven, on-camera hotspots. With the wave of a hand or a walk across the stage, the scene switches—and your show takes on a whole new dimension with interactive elements in step with your talent's presentation.
Virtual Sets
tblRowA if your "set" is really a multi-purpose room or the corner of a studio, your viewers will not only see your professional brand shine through—they’ll see any world you want to create. With the TriCaster 8000 system's virtual sets, you can elevate your look with realistic foregrounds and moving backgrounds. Don't want a studio look? That’s okay: take a panoramic of any location with your smart phone, or a 3D model from any universe you create, and incorporate it using our holographic LiveSet capability, bringing augmented reality that much closer to live. Add real-time energy to any virtual set with four live sources—each with four layers of overlay, all with transitions, sounds, 3D positioning and effects. Live camera moves and shot changes during production bring your new location to life.
Social Media Publishing
In the age of second and third screens, your social media image is critical to developing a following—not to mention, grabbing the attention of sponsors, advertisers and partnership opportunities. The one-of-a-kind social media publishing application of TriCaster 8000 instantly links you with all of your social networks—like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube—so you can share, distribute and engage instantly, tblRowA while the action's live.
Fail-safe Operation
A single TriCaster 8000 provides multi-tiered redundant fail-safe mechanisms in both hardware and software. Redundant, removable power supplies and hot-swappable hard drives protect from physical interruptions. Fail-safe software monitors live performance, and video pass-through, streaming output and recording continue through unexpected error conditions.
Mirroring/Redundancy
Mirroring of a second TriCaster 8000 system fulfills broadcasters’ and others’ requirement for redundancy. This function provides the option to sync with—and fail over to—an identically setup TriCaster 8000 system in order to continue to ride through a program seamlessly, during an unpredictable interruption of primary live operation—for instance, accidental disconnect from power or network.
Capacity
TriCaster 8000 offers huge capacity for recorded media. Use it for storing files for use in your live productions—5 integrated digital media players are on-hand to augment your production, on top of your 10 live and 8 virtual sources—and for ISO recording your individual camera sources for later post-production. Need more? Swap out media drives for more capacity, and extend with external (eSATA) drive support, too. Use the session library to save settings and assets for each production. Shift and grow from show, to show—without missing a beat.
Post-production
A large-scale production environment can easily take on a life of its own. TriCaster 8000 intelligently adapts to the nuances of your creative process, natively supporting a massive array of media formats. And with ISO source capture to QuickTime® encoded files embedded with timecode and 4 audio tracks, TriCaster media floats effortlessly between TriCaster, Mac® and Windows® platforms, and all common editing and post-production software. Included codecs for Mac and PC let you equip your entire facility to encode media assets for optimized, real-time playback.
External and Third-Party Applications
Through our third-party developer network, TriCaster 8000 supports an extended set of products that work directly with the system to provide innovative solutions and workflows in several different areas of your live production, including streaming, graphics, content and controllers. Our SDK enables developers and customers to tap into the power of TriCaster functionality, add applications that enhance the production workflow, and further extend integration with standard and custom installations. And our own suite of peripheral applications and hardware control surfaces rounds out the total solution.
