If your business is geared to get somewhere quickly, set up and produce live events—then move on to the next project—don’t burden it with a bunch of extra equipment, setup time and cost.
TriCaster 410 is built for people like you: live event webcasters, videoconference studios, meeting and event staffs, streaming media pros and mid-size worship producers. Anyone who wants to create the highest-quality, professional live video projects with SDI cameras, minimal budgets and tight spaces—and not look back when the event is over.
The most streamlined of our professional models, TriCaster 410 delivers live to air, display, stream, record, and social media network—all at the same time. Its mobile, 2U form factor provides uncluttered I/O in any combination of resolutions and frame rates, trims the workflow and the equipment expenditure to fit your live business, and slims down on the post-production extras.
Don't worry. Your shows will look anything but small. TriCaster 410 integrates every production component you need to produce sophisticated, multi-camera events and deliver them live to any screen. It then goes even further to deliver super-charged visuals, generated by the most powerful switcher-effects engine available. Like 3D holographic virtual sets. Mix/effect banks that extend your submix and switching capabilities by a factor of four. Multi-channel media delivery with simultaneous streaming and social media publishing. And a slew of productivity-enhancing tools that let you focus on all the action between fade up and fade to black.
Product Essentials:
Turnkey Production
Based on the innovative concept that a single system can broadcast, project, stream and record, simultaneously, TriCaster 410’s multiple turnkey functions do the work that usually requires racks of equipment, but integrates into a turnkey solution that saves space, setup, cabling and expense. Just one system replaces gear for recording, encoding, switching, submixing, playback, audio mixing, DVE, advanced graphics and titling, animation store, scan conversion, multiple channels of virtual sets, live streaming, camera automation, scopes and monitors, and social media publishing.
Small Footprint
Mountains of gear are a thing of the past. Make the most of just 2U of rack space in a flightpack or tight space, and gain a freedom of movement that's just not possible with racks of individual components pieced together. Available with or without a compact counter-sunk or countertop control surface that goes anywhere.
SDI I/O
TriCaster 410 provides SDI connectivity to keep your productions professional, and standardized to your predictable infrastructure and workflow. Input up to four cameras—color correct, key, crop, scale, and frame sync them too—with varying SD and HD resolutions and formats. SDI output connections can send your program out (and an auxiliary output too) to multiple destinations and displays—even send the program to another TriCaster over the network with a network output.
4-channel, Multi-Format ISO Source Recording
Vizrt’s seriously forward-thinking IsoCorder™ technology combines the capabilities of racks and racks of video capture equipment, providing multi-track, multi-format recording of up to four simultaneous channels. Record any combination of your finished show, a clean feed, raw source captures from any camera, or more, at full resolution—directly from the user interface.
15-channel Multi-camera Production
Connectivity for 4 SDI camera sources. Video playback from 2 DDRs—not just short clips with an overly restrictive frame count: we’re talking full-length packages and whatever else you need. Digital media from 2 built-in graphic and sound slots. 2 network sources for sharing computer displays, wireless iOS devices, or any over-the-network source. And 4 M/E banks to stage live virtual sets, create real-time compositions and presets, and submixes that can act as upstream switchers (or secondary programs out).
Expanded Media Sources: Buffers and Network Inputs
Real-time 15-channel production is just the start. TriCaster 410 gives producers instant access to even more content in real time, without adding equipment or crew. Still and title buffers provide 15 bonus, “always on” sources. And enhanced network inputs support cloud video, streaming servers, remote cameras, remotely hosted clips, USB cameras and more, dramatically expanding content and programming possibilities without taking up a hardware input.
Audio Mixing
The TriCaster integrated multi-channel audio mixer is loaded with enhancements that raise the caliber of your shows’ sound to the same professional, network quality as the visuals. Unprecedented routing, customization, control and flexibility—and further opportunities for sound configuration and delivery like simulcast audio, multi-language presentation, and mix-minus applications (such as Skype calls and phoners)—without the investment in scores of external hardware. If live control by an audio operator is what you want, you get full support for mixing from our iPad remote mixer app, the Avid® Artist Mix control surface, and other third-party audio control interfaces.
Visual & Motion Effects
TriCaster 410 has the most powerful integrated effects engine available in live production. From full-color, animated transitions with alpha channel and embedded audio, to real-time cloth dynamics, 3D video warping, and transformations with TransWarp effects and motion overlays; all the way to your own custom, branded effects using the included Animation Store Creator application, and real-time, multi-layered compositions with 4 M/E rows and motion effects. TriCaster 410 lets nothing stand in the way of getting the look you want or the professional presentation your organization demands.
Automation
Automation functions in TriCaster 410 help you experiment with more complex sequences but leave nothing to chance during a live production. Reduce on-air mistakes with macros—streamline real-time shot sequences that make the show look more sophisticated, but are too complicated to execute live and risk costly errors. Unlimited external control functions with MIDI sequencing enables show control of nearly any command, or offloading tasks to additional crew. Using hotspots, talent can trigger automated sequences requiring extraordinary timing with on-camera gestures, effectively controlling a segment without an operator. And add remotely controlled robotic cameras as input sources, without the need to add camera operators.
Virtual Sets
Even if your "set" is really a multi-purpose room or the corner of a studio, your viewers will not only see your professional brand shine through—they’ll see any world you want to create, without the high cost or heavy construction. With TriCaster 410 system's virtual sets, you can elevate your look with realistic foregrounds and live moving backgrounds. Not just high-end studio looks either: take a panoramic of any location with your smart phone, or a 3D model from any universe you create, and make it your scene using our holographic LiveSet capability, bringing augmented reality that much closer to live. Add real-time energy to any virtual set with two live sources—each with overlay, all with transitions, sounds, 3D DVEs and effects. Live camera moves and shot changes during production bring your new location to life.
Social Media Publishing
With a brief setup beforehand and the real-time grab of a shot, generate second-screen content for sites like YouTube, Facebook and Twitter during the live show, and extend your brand to online and second-screen platforms—or share assets to common storage locations for instant access by others. Hey, set it all up with a macro and just push a button, and you’ve increased your program exposure without adding equipment, personnel, or lag time.
External and Third-Party Applications
Through our third-party developer network, TriCaster 410 supports an extended set of products that work directly with the system to provide innovative solutions and workflows in several different areas of your live production, including streaming, graphics, content and controllers. Our SDK enables developers and customers to tap into the power of TriCaster functionality, add applications that enhance the production workflow, and further extend integration with standard and custom installations. And our own suite of peripheral applications and hardware control surfaces rounds out the total solution.
This newly updated TriCaster version now gives webcasters, meeting and event producers, freelancers and everyday A/V heroes a boost, with the enhanced creative tools, increased flexibility and streamlined workflows they need to make the highest-quality, professional productions happen on minimal budgets.
Integration
3Play Native Support
Direct integration between TriCaster and 3Play enables cross-platform commands and automation (via macros) for remote operation of select 3Play functions. Build custom command programs and consolidate control between TriCaster and 3Play - reducing the number of operators required, and simplifying sophisticated, multi-system workflows.
Shared Storage Support
Access and playback files written to SAN and shared drives by TriCaster and 3Play systems on the same network - without having to import and host locally - to enhance facility integration and streamline workflows.
Vizrt Trio Support
Advanced native control of Vizrt Trio graphics systems to select and display CG pages, perform animations and more via macros. Combine operations between Vizrt solutions and Vizrt Trio for sophisticated live production workflows with centralized control.
GPI Support
Explore new opportunities for external control, driving up to 2x24 different GPI signals using the JLCooper eBOX GPI system. GPI commands can be freely inserted into TriCaster macros, allowing external GPI events to be triggered by TriCaster operations.
WorkFlow
Quad Monitor Support
Drive two additional VGA monitors or projectors, with advanced scaling and frame-rate processing. Each display port supports an independently selectable output signal, increasing flexibility for multi-screen monitoring and output.
Custom Multi-View Layout
Multi-view displays are now fully configurable, with sources and overlays selectable per viewport, enabling more flexible monitoring and allowing the operator to customize the workspace according to preference.
Output Selections
Secondary output channels now support expanded source selections. Choose to follow either of the primary outputs, or select any internal or external video source - with full frame-rate, color space and scaler - for more flexible output configuration.
Export Active Recordings
Export active ISO recordings to local storage or FTP while recording is in progress - and let post-production staff begin working with recorded content as soon as the program begins to reduce turnaround time.
Queue Active Recordings
Add local or shared ISO recordings to DDR playlists and the Publish queue while recording is in progress. Trim, playback or export even as recording and live production continues for instantaneous access to content being captured - locally or remotely - for playback, publishing or postproduction.
Network Tally Display
TriCaster intelligently detects connections between replay channels and network inputs, providing automatic tally configuration for TriCaster-3Play workflows and reducing the risk of mistakes happening on air.
Operations
Replay Functionality
Create basic highlight clips for instant playback and publishing with shortcut commands that insert the last 4 seconds of program output into your choice of DDR playlists, the Publish queue, or both-and expand your content-creation opportunities with no additional effort.
TW Controller Clip Marking
Clip marking with the TW controller now occurs on a continuously recording clip with adjustable In and Out points, rather than the TW controller starting and stopping recording to create clips with fixed In and Out points. This means the system retains full ISO recording functionality on all channels, even with TW controller in the workflow, extending playback control in single-channel replay workflows.
Automatic Media Retrieval
TriCaster now automatically locates and populates session media, even when drive settings have changed-saving valuable time spent searching for missing media and rebuilding sessions, and lessening the burden on operators to maintain a large volume and assortment of assets.
Navigation
Media Browser
Media Browser now includes a Session Recordings category, so operators can readily locate and identify session recordings, including those that are currently in progress. Actively recording clips are also identified with a Record symbol overlay for increased visibility.
Clip Thumbnails
For faster navigation, organization and file management, you can choose the thumbnail image that represents a clip in DDRs and the Media Browser, including distinctive, individual thumbnail images for duplicate clips.
Visuals
Advanced Rendering Engine
Optimized processing for image sampling, downscaling and warping results in higher-quality video images and even cleaner, better-looking video.
Photoshop Blending Modes
Combine mix/effect layers using any of the standard Adobe Photoshop blending modes for more sophisticated layering and compositing, new visual effects opportunities and higher production value.
Recordings
Frame-Synchronized ISO Recording
Synchronizes frames of recorded signals to internal switcher timing, so you can ensure frame accuracy between ISO recordings - with or without camera genlock.
Multi Format ISO Recording
Record multiple channels of video direct to disk with independently selectable file format on all channels, and effectively eliminate racks of recording and transcoding equipment. Capture multiple versions of program output simultaneously or retain multi-camera source footage for archive or post-production use.
